RC drilling

RC is a back-blowing drilling method widely used all over the world. This method is indispensable in areas where there is no water or it is too expensive, for example, in Australia, Africa, Northern Canada or northern Russia.
The drilling speed often exceeds 80 m per shift, depending on the soil. Drilling speed is a significant cost savings compared to other, slower drilling methods.

IDEAL FOR DRILLING DIFFICULT SOILS

RC drilling is relatively insensitive to difficult soils, which can become a problem when using other drilling methods. RC was originally developed as a method of drilling geologists' "nightmares" (such as permafrost, ice sheet, fractured rock, etc.), where conventional drilling methods are expensive and inefficient.

How it works:
- High-pressure air enters the drill string by means of a compressor
- Clean air is fed down through the inter-tube space into the pneumatic hammer, which destroys the rock by the impact-rotational method.
- The exhaust air containing rock samples is returned through the center of the bit, into the inner drill pipe and enters the cyclone hopper and sampler.
